Imran claims there is no opposition in Parliament

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that there seemed to be no opposition in Parliament, while claiming that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari had signed "backdoor deals".
The PTI chief made the statement while denouncing the passing of the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) Bill 2014, which aims to generate funds for financing different energy projects.
“The Pakistan Peoples Party should have opposed the bill [in the National Assembly on Tuesday],” the PTI chairman said.

“Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari have signed backdoor deals,” the PTI chiarman alleged.
“The PML-N has assumed Punjab is the entire Pakistan,” he added.
Further, Imran claimed the bill would weaken the federation.
The objective of the bill is to enact a law for imposing the cess, besides generating finances for the government. The house adopted four amendments to the bill introduced by Syed Naveed Qamar of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Highlighting the salient features and responding to the queries of opposition members, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the Supreme Court had declared in its verdict that the cess was not a tax. “This clearly shows that it is not a money bill and falls within the domain of the federal government.”
