Shadbagh fire: Wattoo blames deaths on govt officials

“I feel that government officials must take the blame for the incident.”

LAHORE:
Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said the Shadbagh incident has placed a question mark on the government’s claims of good governance. He said the incident had left the people of the Punjab bereaved. “I feel that government officials must take the blame for the incident.” He said the government must take steps to prevent such incidents from taking place in the future. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Lahore information secretary Furrukh Javed Moon said, “If the government had not wasted millions of rupees on Metro Buses and had, instead, purchased new vehicles for the Fire Brigade Department, lives might not have been lost.”
