An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from the Shahdra Town SHO on a petition filed by a woman seeking a case against her husband who allegedly cut her hair for not withdrawing a dissolution of marriage suit. Petitioner Saima Bibi* said that she had married Hassan few years ago but he used to beat her up. She said that she left him and returned to her parents. Recently, her husband visited her asking her to withdraw a suit seeking dissolution of marriage that she had filed in a family court, but she refused. He then cut her hair and humiliated her, she said. She said her husband had also threatened to kill her.
She said that she visited the police station to file a complaint but the SHO there refused to register a case.
