Contempt petition: LHC seeks reply from NA speaker

Lahore High Court (LHC) sought a reply from National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday on a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against him. Iqtidar Shah had filed the petition, stating that the LHC had sent a petition about Article 248, 45 and 263 of the Constitution to the speaker, who had not given a ruling on it. He had requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against Sadiq. The petitioner had claimed that the articles were against the injunctions of Islam.
