Former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has claimed that the Sindh police is being used against him by the provincial government. He appealed the federal government, Chief of Army Staff, Chief Justice of Supreme Court and the ISI DG to take notice of the situation.
"I am afraid of the police," said Mirza in a press conference at his residence on Sunday, alleging that former president Asif Ali Zardari and MNA Faryal Talpur were using the police against him.
Visibly angered by the situation he found himself in, Mirza said the police wanted to kill him. "I am not a dacoit. I am a trained person from the Pakistan Army," he warned. "I am also a law-abiding citizen." He claimed the Sindh government was wasting public money on his media trial.
Meanwhile, the Sindh IG suspended the Darakshan police station SHO and issued show-cause notice to the DSP for the display of weapons by Mirza's guards during his visit to the police station.
