The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is making efforts to curb dengue fever while utilising all available resources to combat the disease.



The cooperation of residents of the city would play a key role in CDA’s effort, said the authority’s Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed while reviewing steps taken by the civic agency.


CDA’s director health services apprised Ahmed that the department has been taking effective preventive measures against dengue virus in the city, said a press release.


He was apprised that special teams had been constituted for effective dengue surveillance. These teams carried out parricidal sprays at 209 and fogging activity at 262 potential breeding sites of dengue mosquito, whiles praying activity has been done at 538 different places of the capital.


He was apprised that 5,850 samples were also taken to test the presence of dengue larva but not a single sample was found positive.
