Unwavering commitment: Nisar urges nation to unite against terrorism
Interior minister says country will become a cradle of peace
KALLAR SYEDAN:
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Saturday that the entire nation should send out a message of unity and unwavering commitment against terrorism, according to a report carried by Radio Pakistan.
“The war on terrorism will be won at all costs to make the country a cradle of peace,” Nisar said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of an air-conditioned bus service in Kallar Syedan. “The noose has been tightened around terrorists and they are now targeting soft targets in utter desperation.”
He said terrorists wanted to drive a wedge in society through acts of terrorism. “It is the responsibility of the entire nation and the political parties to give a message of unity and unwavering commitment to defeat the terrorists.”
Regarding law and order, the minister said the situation had improved since the operation against terrorism was launched. “We shall further gear up efforts against terrorists who have maligned the name of Islam through their nefarious acts.”
Nisar said terrorists wanted to paralyse and divide the nation. “We need to understand that terrorist attacks are carried out to divide and break the resolve of the nation.” He appealed to the people to collectively confront the enemies of the country.
The minister vowed that the war against terrorism would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated.
“The armed forces have paralysed the banned outfits, which is why they are targeting civilians. The country will meet the challenge and rise above all threats.”
