This or that? 68th Cannes film festival day 2
Bolywood A-listers didn’t hold back when it came to making waves at the Cannes red carpet
Bolywood A-listers didn’t hold back when it came to making waves at the Cannes red carpet.
Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat made their way to the premiere of Mad Max: Fury Road on day two of the film festival – and, they were dressed to kill (in a pleasant way) – at least one of them was. Showcasing their enviable bods, the desi divas fused well with their Hollywood counterparts.
Katrina Kaif
Hair and make-up
Sporting auburn hair with a slick middle parting, the Dhoom 3 diva oozed grace at the premiere. Polishing up her slick look, the actor opted for stroke of neat eyeliner and a bold ruby-red pout. We must say, her up-do nailed the minimalistic approach to the tee.
Outfit
The Bang Bang diva glided down the red carpet wearing a blazing red, richly brocaded Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2015 gown. She accentuated her hourglass frame in the body-hugging full-sleeved number that comprised a waist-cinching skinny belt and a sassy mermaid flare that added to the gown’s floor-kissing aesthetic.
Accessories
With the fiery red gown left to do all the talking, Katrina steered clear of jewels and accessories. Donning six-inch platform block heels by Elie Saab, we feel she could’ve looked more dapper with a pair of pointy stilettos in a contrasting black or nude hue.
Mallika Sherawat
Hair and make-up
The Dirty Politics actor styled her hair down in mild curls and swept to one side. She refined her look with a stroke of kohl, liquid eyeliner and a burgundy lipstick, that didn’t quite suit the diva. Maybe a better tone of lip colour would’ve saved Mallika from looking sapped and older than her years.
Outfit
The star wore a floor-grazing Alexis Mabille gown in fuchsia pink. Though the solid-toned number emitted a luxe appeal, it failed to impress. The dress featured a tacky satin pleat covering the upper fragment of the gown continuing up to the shoulders and flowing behind her like a cape. We yawned.
Accessories
Glamming up in a butterfly-design Boucheron neck piece in white gold and diamonds, the ‘Jalebi Bai’ kept the accessorising factor to a minimum; not that her elaborate dress required the need for more.
