They stressed early establishment of the Commission on the Status of Non-Muslims
PESHAWAR:
Representatives of minorities from Peshawar and other parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa demanded that the provincial government take serious measures to ensure their safety and protect their rights. The government needs to announce the early establishment of the Commission on the Status of Non-Muslims, agreed the participants of a meeting convened by the South Asia Partnership Pakistan (SAP Pakistan) in collaboration with other civil society organisations on Friday. Highlighting issues of non-Muslims, the participants agreed to establish a body similar to the Commission on the Status of Women. Such an authority would work on assignments and its decisions would be mandatory for the government to follow.
