KARACHI:
Incidents like Karachi bus carnage draw serious questions on the effectiveness of the Karachi operation, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Sirajul Haq said on Thursday.

“The massacre of the members of Ismaili Community has exacerbated the sense of insecurity among the residents of the city,” the JI chief said after visiting the injured at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi.

He said that some elements were out to destabilise Pakistan. “Foreign agents are active in the country,” he said.

People had heaved a sigh of relief on the targeted operation against the criminals. Although, Rangers and the civil administration are taking action, terrorists continue to strike with impunity, he said.

Haq while visiting the victims of Safora incident admitted at Agha Khan Hospital, also met their relatives and expressed his sympathies with them. He offered condolences to the heirs of those who lost their lives in the ugly incident of terrorism on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media after the visit he termed the day as the black day of the country’s history. He said that people of the country are with the Ismaili community and condemn the incident.

He said that he had come straight from Peshawar to visit the injured and to see the heirs of the persons who have lost their lives.

Haq said it was the responsibility of the government and the security agencies to analyse from all angles and find out the elements involved in such incidents. “Unfortunately the federal and the provincial governments have failed to prevent such incidents of terrorism from taking place,” he said.

The security agencies have provided proofs of involvement of RAW in such ugly happenings, but the government has so far neither lodged a complaint with the Indian government nor it has raised the issue at any international forum, the JI Ameer said.

The Naib Amir of JI Asadullah Bhutto and other office-bearers had arrived at Memon Hospital immediately after receiving the news of the firing on the bus. They expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased and the injured. The volunteers and ambulances of the Al-Khidmat also extended their cooperation for the treatment of the injured.
