
The AMS will help NAB develop an effective monitoring and evaluation framework, said chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry chairing a meeting to review progress on AMS at NAB Headquarters on Thursday, the statement said.
During the meeting, DG NAB Headquarters in his presentation said that AMS maintains data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation and prosecution stage.
Furthermore, AMS preserves record of regional board meetings and executive board meetings including case brief, decisions made and list of meeting attendees with time and date.
The DG said that the effort was in line with the directions of Supreme Court for setting up an effective monitoring and evaluation system and ability to analyse data in qualitative and quantitative form having warnings and alarms system for violators.
The NAB chief appreciated the efforts being made by NAB and LUMS team for setting up of AMS in 75 days having warnings and alarms system for violators till June 30, 2015 which is also the date of completion of all pending complaint verifications, inquiries and investigations.
During the meeting, it was decided that a special monitoring cell will be established in the office of Prosecutor General Accountability (PGA) at NAB Headquarters for matters before Supreme Court and all DPGAs will establish similar cell at regional bureaus for matters before high courts.
At the end, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said the nation is looking up to NAB to play its role in eradication of corruption and corrupt practices. The bureau will have to fulfil its mandate in fighting corruption and corrupt practices.
