According to a statement issued by the Sindh Rangers, the law enforcement agency conducted targeted raids in Sohrab Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, New Karachi, North Nazimabad and Orangi town.
During the raids, 145 suspects were taken into custody, while weapons including SMGs were also recovered.
Meanwhile, the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) central leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi claimed that Rangers had raided a madrassa in Gulshan-e-Maymar and arrested a seminary teacher and 90 students, BBC Urdu reported.
Farooqi further claimed that Rangers had raided the house of slain ASWJ leader Dr Fayyaz.
Following the attack on Ismaili community on Wednesday, in which 45 people were killed, law enforcement agencies have scaled up the ongoing security operation in the city.
