Bar grant: Law secretary asked for report
LHC directs federal law secretary to submit detailed report regarding Babar Awan's claim.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudary on Friday directed the federal law secretary to submit a detailed report regarding a claim that Law Minister Babar Awan had presented a cheque for Rs30 million to the Hafizabad District Bar and that payment was stopped on it.
Justice Chaudary directed the secretary to submit the report by December 14. Petitioner Khalid Tehami, the Hafizabad District Bar president, had submitted through his counsel, Mushtaq Ahmed Mohal, that the minister had given a cheque for of Rs30 million to the bar in May 2010. He said that when the bar presented the cheque it was not cashed. He alleged that the minister was annoyed by his meeting the Chief Justice of Pakistan and had directed the finance ministry to stop the payment.
