Bugti murder case: Musharraf exempted from appearance
ATC grants permanent exemption on medical grounds
QUETTA:
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) hearing the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case has granted permanent exemption to former president Pervez Musharraf from appearing in person on medical grounds. Terming the exemption conditional, ATC Quetta Judge Aftab Lone said that the former military ruler could be summoned by the court whenever required. Musharraf is the main accused in the Bugti murder case. Bugti was killed along with his comrades in 2006 in a military operation ordered by Musharraf, who was president and army chief at the time. The ex-army chief has never appeared in court during the entire legal process which has been in progress since 2009.
