KARACHI:
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon on Wednesday said that the attack on Ismaili community was an attack on the whole nation. At least 47 people including women and children were killed in a terrorist attack on the Ismaili community bus in Karachi.

“Our forces are adamant on eliminating the terrorists,” he said, adding that some clues have been found from the crime scene but cannot be shared as it will help the terrorists.

He was talking to the media after visiting the site of the Safora Chowrangi massacre and meeting injured victims at Aga Khan Hospital and Memon Hospital. “Targeting women and children is a blatant act of cowardice that we condemn in strongest of terms,” he said.

The whole nation is saddened by this attack, he said. “People of Sindh, particularly Karachi think it is an attack on their home,” the minister said.

He said that terrorists have stooped to attacking soft targets. “They attack our schools, places of worship, markets and ambush security forces.

Today, these terrorists have attacked Ismaili community which has played an important role in the formation and strengthening of Pakistan,” Memon said.

He said that terrorists will soon meet their logical end. “We will track these terrorists down and fight them in their own homes,” he said. Memon also announced compensation packages for the deceased and the injured.
