Congo virus: Suspected patient admitted at HMC

PESHAWAR:
A patient suspected of being infected by the Congo virus has been admitted at Hayatabad Medical Centre. According to hospital medics, 24-year-old Qudratullah, a resident of Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan, reached HMC complaining of prolonged fever. He was examined and admitted on May 11. His blood samples were obtained and sent to the federal capital for further processing. Qudratullah is the second suspected Congo virus patient to arrive at HMC this month. On May 3, Afghan national Abdul Saboor was admitted at the hospital. His blood samples were also sent to Islamabad. While the test results are awaited, Saboor has been shifted to an isolation ward where he is receiving medical assistance.
