Amin, Nauman put NBP on top

Pair hits centuries on opening day of four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against ZTBL.

Umar Amin hit an impressive century and Naumanullah remained unbeaten on 100 as NBP dominated the opening day of their four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against ZTBL at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot. Amin was dismissed for 110 but Naumanullah continued to power through to the end. Mohammad Khalil took four for 84.

Blues struggle

Rizwan Akbar took four for 65 as Karachi Blues struggled to 231 for nine against Rawalpindi on the first day at the Pindi Stadium. Atif Ali Zaidi was the lone batsman offering any resistance as he made 62.

Multan in trouble

Waqas Ahmed and Prince Abbas took two wickets each as Sialkot reduced Multan to an embarrassing 34 for four after managing 227 at the Gymkhana Ground in Okara. Ahmed took two for 13 and Abbas claimed two for 17 after Nabeel Malik hit a 86-ball 78 to steer Sialkot out of trouble. Multan’s Abdul Rauf had earlier taken five for 100.

Islamabad dominate


Islamabad were on top after day one as they reached 93 for three after bundling out Faisalabad for 181 at the Iqbal Stadium. Nasrullah Khan claimed five for 50 to send the hosts packing with only Hassan Mahmood and Qaiser Iqbal hitting half-centuries to rescue Faisalabad.

HBL impress

All-rounder Azhar Mahmood and Sarmad Anwar shared seven wickets between them as Wapda were all out for 239 at the Diamond Ground against HBL. Sohaib Maqsood made 79 before HBL reached 16 for no loss.

PIA do well

Kamran Sajjad was in sight of a century as he made 94 not out and helped PIA reached 262 for six against SNGPL at the Marghazar Ground in Islamabad.
