LAHORE:

A 10-year-old boy’s body was found on Tuesday from a graveyard in Keer village.

South Cantonment police said Afzal, a resident of Chiniot, had been decapitated. Police said he had been working as a domestic help at a judge’s house in D-Block, Defence. He said the judge was posted in Chiniot.

South Cantonment SHO Raja Muzammil told The Express Tribune that Afzal was sent to a nearby market to buy vegetables. “He did not return home. An hour later, his body was found from the graveyard,” he said.

“The boy’s torso was found at around noon by some neighbours who visited the graveyard. They alerted police. Police later found the head,” the SHO said.

“The body was taken to a hospital for autopsy. The body bore no signs of torture,” he said. He said police had arrested a cook, working in the same house, for interrogation. An FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the boy’s father.
