Violation of rules: ECP summons chief secretary

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan to explain the government’s position on the alleged violation of code of conduct for local government elections.
Awami National Party Mardan secretary information Rozi Khan submitted a petition with the ECP, accusing Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, MPA Ubaidullah Mayar, the chief secretary and secretaries of finance and local government of attempting to influence the outcome of LG polls in PK-25, Mardan-III. The petitioner stated Khattak directed the chief secretary to release Rs80 million for various development projects in the constituency on April 24.
