Revolting custom: Woman killed for ‘honour’
Police exhumed the body and sent it to a mortuary for autopsy.
BAHAWALPUR:
Kot Sabzal police said on Tuesday that an 18-year-old woman had been killed for ‘honour’ by her husband and father-in-law.
Officials said Barkat Ali, the husband of the deceased, and Abdul Kareem, her father-in-law, had killed her after declaring her kari. Police said they had later buried her on the spot. Officials said they had fled to Sindh after placing a trunk over the site. A team from Kot Sabzal police station reached the burial site of the deceased after being tipped-off by the family of the victim. Police exhumed the body and sent it to a mortuary for autopsy.
