K-P supporters conduct sit-in outside Parliament House

The protest outside the Parliament House is for the “rights of the province’s people”

ISLAMABAD:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak with scores of his supporters gathered in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday to protest against prolonged power cuts changes to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and to demand the massive dues owed by the Centre to K-P, Express News reported. 

Minister for Information Mushtaq Ghani said on Monday that the protest outside the Parliament House on Tuesday would be for the “rights of the province’s people”.

Security arrangements were made prior to the arrival of the supporters and many of the routes around the Parliament House were cordoned off.

"We are united in fighting for our rights," Khattak said while addressing media.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam decided not to take part in the provincial government’s demonstration in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad.
