LAHORE:
A policeman was found lying dead in Dharampura late on Sunday night.
Police said the body of Constable Imran, a resident of Samanabad, was found near a park. Imran had been posted at Qila Gujjar Singh police lines.
Police said according to initial investigation, Imran had committed suicide due to domestic problems.
“His friends have told police that he started quarreling with them on their way to Mughalpura on Sunday night. Then he shot himself in the head with his own handgun,” police said.
Police said Imran’s father had told them that he had been depressed because his wife had gone to her parents’ house after quarreling with him.
DIG Haider Ashraf said that police were investigating whether it was a suicide or murder.
