KSE-100 index takes 1000-point beating

33 stocks registered increase, 300 ended lower, 14 remained unchanged

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE)-100 index fell 1,023.94 points on the opening day of the week amid rumours of various brokers being investigated.

The index, which ended in the red four times out of five the previous week, closed at 32506.36 points, registering a decrease of 3.05% or 1,023.94 points.

Several stocks closed at their lower limit with shares of only 33 companies registering an increase. Overall, shares of 347 companies were traded on Monday with 300 ending lower, while 14 remained unchanged.

Trade volume clocked in at 235 million shares.
