Excerpt

“The Counsel will be a timely, educational and at times an entertaining insight into the practice and application of the Law in its various facets.”

A quarterly magazine giving a deeper look into the corporate sector, and updates on legislation and case law, The Counsel, is Pakistan’s first-ever corporate law magazine. It is focused on filling the void in the consistent coverage of legal developments in Pakistan besides promoting the idea of preventive lawyering in the country.

Comprising four lawyers, Syed Bulent Sohail, Kamal K Jabbar, Zarmeeneh Rahim and Shaharyar Nashat, the magazine is all set to provide their readers with updates on judicial and legislative developments, both regionally and globally. From developments in the fields of dispute resolution, intellectual property, real estate, banking and finance, The Counsel also highlights experiences of lawyers working abroad, to compare and contrast the needs and demands of the growing corporate sector here.

The magazine does not only feature articles by legal professionals but also interviews of those executives working for law firms and social welfare organisations, highlighting their  Corporate Social Responsibility policies, holding firms accountable for their actions and returns to the society.

For those individuals who find anything law-related boring, The Counsel has a humour section too in every edition, with an amusing story about law or a joke about an in court trial.
