PESHAWAR:
Awami National Party Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief Amir Haider Khan Hoti said his party is the only force that can safeguard the rights of K-P. Addressing a public gathering in Jamil Chowk, Hoti said ANP will succeed in the May 30 local government polls and the people are looking up to it for relief.
Lashing out at the incumbent provincial government, Hoti said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government receives directives from Punjab in order to solve public issues. “It is a joke that the government is run from another province,” he said. “As soon as torrential rains hit Peshawar and adjoining areas, the entire provincial cabinet disappeared,” he said, adding only ANP was there for the people in the hour of need.
Flanked by ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan and others, the ANP K-P chief said his party will continue to serve locals at their doorstep.
Talking about LG polls, Hoti said strange election symbols have been allotted by the Election Commission of Pakistan this year.
He added the ECP should take notice of its election rules as the K-P government is preparing grounds for pre-poll rigging by buying people off with development projects.
