Police Probe: ‘Suicide victim may have been murdered’

Further investigations in light of new evidences are underway.

NAUNDERO:
Investigations into the alleged suicide of the 17-year-old daughter of Abdul Ghafoor Pitafi suggest that the girl might have been murdered, according to police and sources. Earlier reports suggested that she shot herself in Razo Pitafi village within the limits of the Garhi Khuda Bux police 18 days ago, after having an argument with her mother. Larkana SSP Kamran Nawaz conducted an inquiry into the case and interrogated the victim’s father Abdul Ghafoor, uncle Bukhshal Pitafi and brother Hameer Pitafi. He found that she was killed as the statements of her uncle and brother were conflicting and he ordered their arrest. Sources said that the girl had refused to marry as per the wishes of her family, over which her brother allegedly shot her dead. Further investigations in light of new evidences are underway.
