SHO had not been cooperating with him

An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Friday from the Shahdara Town SHO on a petition filed by a citizen seeking the registration of an FIR against unidentified people for allegedly stealing his gas meter. Petitioner Abid Ali told the court that someone had stolen a gas meter installed outside his house in November, 2014. Ali said he had approached the SHO following the development in vain. He said the Sui Gas Department had refused to install a new meter at his residence till an FIR had been registered. Ali said the SHO had not been cooperating with him on this account nor was the Sui Gas Department installing another meter. He requested the court to instruct the SHO to register an FIR so that he could have a meter installed at his residence.
