PESHAWAR:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has ordered Galiyat Development Authority to prepare a new and comprehensive master plan for Galiyat within six months.

According to a handout issued on Friday, Khattak formed a three-member committee to ascertain losses incurred during anti-encroachment drives in the valley.

Khattak issued the directives while meeting GDA representatives at the CM Secretariat. The CM said those affected should be allotted new cabins and relocated. Member of the standing committee on housing Sardar Muhammad Idrees, Hazara commissioner and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Khattak said the GDA should not bow down to any political pressure whatsoever and continue action against encroachment and illegal allotments. “Everyone is equal before the law, even government officials,” he said. Khattak said the master plan should also incorporate a judicial academy that will be constructed in Galiyat. He also announced bonuses for GDA employees that will be issued if the set targets are achieved by June 2016.

Khattak said only locals should be hired on Class-IV vacancies and action should be taken against those guilty of absenteeism or negligence. Three water supply schemes and an entry fee for tourist vehicles were also approved.
