Zulfiqar Mirza not to be arrested before May 9: SHC tells Sindh govt
Earlier, the former home minister’s lawyer had filed a contempt application against the provincial home secretary
KARACHI:
Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the Sindh government on Friday not to arrest former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza before May 9.
The order comes after SHC on Wednesday extended the pre-arrest 'protective bail' granted to former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza till May 9 in cases relating to the ransacking of a police station in Badin district.

Earlier, the former home minister’s lawyer had filed a contempt application against the provincial home secretary, the Sindh IG, Hyderabad DIG, Badin SSP and others for not allowing him to surrender in court despite being granted protective bail by the high court.

All routes leading to Mirza's home in Badin were blocked on Tuesday amidst heavy deployment in the area.
No arrest can be be made as per orders of the SHC earlier this morning.
