The Ehtesab Commission obtained a 14-day physical remand on Thursday of an official of the K-P social welfare department who has been charged with corruption.



Sardar Ali was arrested a day earlier for allegedly taking bribes from applicants who had applied for jobs in the department during the previous government.


Ali was produced before an Ehtesab Court. The court was informed the suspect was arrested for allegedly taking bribes to guarantee the appointment of applicants.


Deputy Additional Prosecutor General Qazi Babar Arshad requested the court to grant physical custody of the suspect to the commission so they could further investigate.


He added the arrest was made after sufficient proof was collected against Ali. As a result, judge Subhan Sher granted a 14-day physical remand of the suspect.
