MULTAN: Food Minister Bilal Yaseen said on Thursday that the wheat procurement drive had brought market stability.
He said the government had provided small farmers a platform to sell their product.
He said many farmers had been encouraged because of this facility.
“Farmers no longer have to go to dealers and brokers for the sale of wheat which is a good sign,” he said.
Yaseen said transparency must be ensured at all costs during the campaign.
He said small farmers must be facilitated in grain markets.
DCO Asif Iqbal and District Food Controller Syed Sayyaf Ali were also present on the occasion. District Food Controller Syed Sayyaf Ali asked farmers about their problems and ordered the concerned departments to resolve their issues.
