Press Release May 07, 2015

KARACHI: The efforts of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Sindh Governor House, have saved another girl from kidnappers. Amina, the 15-year-old daughter of Shakeel Ahmed, was kidnapped eight months ago from the shrine of Sakhi Abdul Wahab Jilani in Hyderabad. The girl was initially sold for Rs100,000 to a woman named Jannat, who then sold Amina to Gul Sher for Rs150,000. Gul Sher took Amina to Badin and Jaddu. The victim’s family informed the Fort police and also contacted the CPLC. Upon receiving the case, a rapid action team was formed, which utilised all the technical support and ground intelligence available to it. With the help of police officials, a raid was conducted at the suspect’s hideout. Gul Sher managed to escape but the girl was successfully recovered without the payment of any ransom.
