"When she gets scared, she’ll go down on the floorboard of the truck," told Mr. Smith. Unfortunately she accidentally pressed down on the accelerator of the Dodge Ram, sending it hurtling out of control.
Mrs Smith, who was driving, said Mr Smith tried to pull the dog off the pedal but couldn't do it in time - with the vehicle smashing through a fence and into the water.

"We were probably going 50 to 55 miles per hour," he said.
The pool's owner, John McNamara reportedly said his wife didn't believe him when he told her how the truck ended up in their pool.
Luckily neither Mr and Mrs Smith were injured in the accident and say they are not blaming Caroline for the mishap either.
