Defaulting On Taxes: TMA seals 33 shops in Rawal Town

Over 200 notices have been issued to defaulters

RAWALPINDI:
The Rawal Town tehsil municipal administration (TMA) on Monday launched a campaign to recover outstanding taxes of Rs20 million from shopkeepers. TMA officials accompanied by police raided different markets and sealed 33 shops that had not paid taxes for the last several years despite repeated notices. A TMA spokesperson said that 12 shops were sealed in Banni market, 10 in Sherpao market and 11 in Ghazni market. Over 200 notices have been issued to defaulters to clear their dues by May 15, said the official.
