Relief: Varsities demand tax exemption

A committee of treasurers has demanded that public sector universities should be issued tax exemption certificates. The demand came at the 2nd conference of universities’ treasures held at COMSATs. It was decided that the committee will meet the Higher Education Commission chairman to take up the matter with tax authorities. The committee also demanded to include its representative in HEC’s committee which allocates budget to universities.
