BANNU:

An additional sessions judge in Bannu rejected the nomination papers of a former tehsil nazim, striking down the decision of the relevant returning officer.

Additional sessions judge Amjad Makhdoom on Saturday dismissed at least 23 applications filed against the decisions taken by returning officers, maintaining verdicts given by ROs. This was after 27 petitions filed by aspiring candidates were heard by the court.

Four of the petitions were decided against the ROs’ decisions, including that of former Mumbati Barakazi nazim Malik Saleemur Rehman. The petition had been filed by Rehman’s opponent Malik Dil Nawaz Khan.
