KHAR: The son of a peace committee leader was killed in an improvised explosive device blast in Nawagai subdivision of Bajaur Agency, a Khar political administration official said on Friday. He confirmed the blast claimed the life of Khalid Khan, the son of Nawagai peace committee leader Maulana Guldad Khan. The explosive device went off on a roadside in Nawagai Khas—some 25 kilometres west of the agency headquarters. Guldad Khan is a known anti-Taliban peace committee leader who has escaped 13 such attempts on his life. However, he lost his son in Friday’s blast and also his father-in-law in another previous attack. A banned organisation later claimed to have perpetrated the attack.
