Contempt of court: Arrest warrants issued for nine cops

Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Amjad Iqbal on Thursday issued arrest warrants for 11 police officials for failing to comply with court orders.


The court had summoned the police officers in several cases but they did not appear.

The judge then issued non-bailable arrest warrants for ASI Ikram of Saddar police station, Muhammad Nawaz of Sahianwala police station, Muharrar Tariq Mehmood, Constables Ashraf and Falak Sher, SI Sanaullah, SI Khadim Hussain, head constables Asghar Ali, Ghafoor Hussain, Boota and Bashir Ahmad of Chak Jhumra police station.

The judge ordered that Babar be produced before the court on May 5, Muhammad Nawaz, Tariq Mehmood, Ashraf and Falak Sher on May 21, Sanaullah, Khadim Hussain, Asghar Ali, Ghafoor Hussain and Boota Bashir on May 18, 2015.
