KARACHI:
Sindh government is utilising all available resources to improve water supply to the people of Karachi, Sindh Minister for Local Bodies and Information Sharjeel Inaam Memon said on Wednesday.

“We understand the problems of the citizens and are trying to resolve them,” he said asserting that the provincial government was seriously working to end the water shortage in the city.

Replying to allegations of MQM leader Farooq Sattar, he said that it was regrettable that MQM refused to play any role in the committees set up to resolve the water distribution issue, but was criticising the earnest efforts of the provincial government.

He said Farooq Sattar has agreed to the fact that water supply to the city was only 50% of the demand, then why these allegations that PPP government was responsible for the water crisis.

The minister said that the government has initiated work on plans to add extra 65 million-gallons-per-day (MGD) to water supplies through Dhabeji and K4 project.
