The police have arrested five out of eight robbers including a serving sub-inspector for their alleged involvement in a robbery at Benazir Bhutto International Airport last week.



Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Regional Police Officer Wisal Raja said five men have been arrested, including an SI. However, two retired officers of a premier intelligence agency are still at large. Police also recovered Rs30 million of the total Rs70 million looted from their possession.


Raja said the Interior Ministry has been asked to put names of the two retired officers on the Exit Control List. Those arrested include Zakaullah, Ishfaq Malhi, Ahmed, Muhammad Rashid and SI Saeed Ahmed.


On April 22, two men dressed as police officers and a third posing as an intelligence agency official kidnapped a money changer and looted Rs70.25 million from him at the airport.
