Sexual offence: Two teenagers held for assaulting minor
Suspects sent to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand.
ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police have arrested two teenagers for sexually assaulting a minor in the limits of Khanna Police Station.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday and sent to Adiala Jail after the father of the seven-year-old victim lodged an FIR against 16-year-old MS* and 17-year-old SS*.
Police said MS* is the victim’s neighbour and on April 26, he took the victim to a friend’s home in the neighbourhood where both suspects molested the 2nd grader.
The victim told his father who came to the police station and registered a case.
Naveed Tahir, the investigation officer for the case, said the police registered an FIR charging the teenagers under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
He said the maximum punishment for the crime is ten years imprisonment and the offence is non-bailable.
The suspects have been sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand for two weeks.
This is the second such case police have registered in recent weeks. Earlier, a teenager was arrested on the same charges from Bari Imam area. *NAMES WITHHELD TO PROTECT IDENTITY
