Urban governance: Plea against housing scheme put off
Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned till May 18
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned till May 18 the hearing of a petition seeking directives for the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to stop establishment of a housing society named LDA City. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah observed that the hearing of the petition could not be completed till the detailed judgement of a full bench on the authority of the LDA in the absence of an elected local government was announced. Petitioner Azhar Siddique had submitted that the authority was developing the housing scheme on 65,000 kanals of farmland. This, he had said, would affect supply of fresh fruits and vegetables to the city.
