Corporate results: Atlas Battery posts Rs274m in profits

On the back of volumetric growth, Atlas Battery boosted its earnings by more than a third during the Jan-March quarter of 2015, the company’s financial report revealed on Monday.


The maker of Atlas Genzo Shmadzu (AGS) battery range, which is used in automobiles and heavy machinery (earth moving equipment), reported an after-tax profit of Rs274 million or Rs15.6 per share during the quarter under review, up 41% compared to Rs196 million or Rs11.3 per share it earned during the same quarter last year.


The company’s revenues for the period clocked in at Rs4.5 billion, up 33% compared to Rs3.4 billion of the corresponding period of 2014.

On a nine-month basis, the company’s earnings increased by 22% to Rs640 million or Rs36.76 per share.
