Islamabad clinched the BNP All-Pakistan National Wheelchair Users cricket tournament as the hosts defeated Mardan by 15 runs in the final.
“It’s the first time in history that we have a national wheelchair cricket team,” Raees told The Express Tribune. “We will be going to India next month to play a five-match ODI series.”

According to Pakistan Wheelchair cricket director Jawed Raees, the event featured eight men’s team, while two women’s teams also competed in the national event for the first time.
Raees added that Islamabad’s victory in the three-day tournament was a surprise for everyone as Mardan had previously won two titles, while former winners also include Lahore, Karachi and Multan.
He further said that the tournament also brought about Pakistan’s first national wheelchair users team that played a Twenty20 match with a club side on Sunday.
