Protest: Locals of Makad village demand school

The protesters criticised the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for not making efforts to provide local children education

MINGORA:
Residents along with their children took to the streets to demand a school in Makad area of Charbagh tehsil on Sunday. The protesters criticised the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for not making an effort to provide local children the ‘privilege’ of education. They also slated the K-P government’s newly-launched project for education, Ghar aya Ustad, saying the government should first work on establishing schools to motivate children for education before sending teachers door to door. They called the policies of the government incomprehensible, saying such projects are a waste of time and money. The protesters warned all political parties that they would boycott LG elections if their demands are not met. Makad village is situated in rural Swat and comes under the constituency of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Dr Haider Ali Khan.
