The session, ‘Unsilencing Balochistan (Take 2)’, featured the chairperson of Voice for Missing Baloch Persons (VBMP), Mama Qadeer. This was the same session which was due to be held at LUMS a few weeks ago, but was cancelled at the last minute.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for Sabeen’s murder. However, sources say the slain activist has been receiving threats.

The police registered a case against unidentified persons under terrorism charges on behalf of Sabeen’s mother, who was critically wounded in the attack and is admitted in hospital.

Further, Khorasani alleged that “investigation by the TTP’s intelligence wing suggests government agencies are behind the killing of Sabeen Mahmud.”

Dr. A.K.Tewari | 9 years ago | Reply Only a secular Pakistan can survive . It is only then a heterogenious society can be managed with a secular constitution as it is working in India . Hindu India would have collapse much earlier . It does'nt mean that in India there is no religious fanatics , they are there but their role is limited and confined . Such eliments occationally become active in response to the need as happened in 1984 and in Gujraat . Some time communal violence is in responce to activities of fanaticts of other religion but our secular cpc and law enforcing agencies are capable to handle the in an undiscriminated manner . Such things are almost impossible in Islamic Republic of Pakistan . Now attempt are being done to ractify the mistakes of the past but it will remain futile in a Islamic state .
