A batch of 250 Pakistan Army troops left for Congo

A batch of 250 Pakistan Army troops left for Congo on Saturday to perform peace-keeping duties under a United Nations mission in the country. Brigadier Shahid Manzoor bade them farewell at Allama Iqbal International Airport. The troops would replace those already deployed there. Addressing the troops, Manzoor said that the blue berets of Pak-Army had rendered great services for restoration of peace across the globe. He told them that they were representing their country on a noble assignment abroad. He said their conduct should reflect the traditions of Pakistan Army. Pakistani peacekeepers have been serving in Congo for nearly a decade.
