14th Convocation: 100 dentists graduate

Convocation of Fatima Jinnah Dental College held at convention centre in DA Country and Golf Club.

KARACHI: The 14th convocation of the Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) was held at the convention centre in DA Country and Golf Club on Dec 1. A total of 82 girls and 18 boys graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS).

Former Sindh High Court chief justice and former Sindh governor Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim was the chief guest on the occasion. He presented gold medals to students with an excellent academic record. University of Karachi vice chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui awarded the degrees.

FJDC principal Prof Dr Issa Arain presented the annual report and awarded eight gold medals to Dr Sania Saleem Noorani. Nineteen others also won god medals for acquiring the highest marks in different subjects.

The chief guest congratulated the graduates and reminded them of their duty to the nation. “Apart from your professional duties, you graduates being the younger generation should not fail the nation in salvaging it from the misfortune it is facing today,” Ebrahim said.

The KU vice chancellor praised the FJDC for its high standard of professionalism. He reminded the graduates that completing the BDS from FJDC was a privilege and now they were expected to serve both society and the country.
