Community welfare: Pakistani teenager recognised
Saaria Sohail was selected to the exclusive group by the Riverside’s Youth Council
ISLAMABAD:
First Pakistani female student has been selected among Riverside’s 25 most remarkable teens for 2015 in California, United States.
Saaria Sohail was selected to the exclusive group by the Riverside’s Youth Council.
Sohail is the vice president of the Cancer Awareness Club at La Sierra High School and spends endless hours raising money for cancer research.
Riverside Youth Council had asked all schools in the area to identify Riverside’s most remarkable teens.
Nominations were sent for 60 students studying from Grade 8 to 12.
Later, the council selected 25 teens, who have made a remarkable effort to give back to their community. The Youth Council has the support of mayor’s office.
On May 12, these students including Sohail will be acknowledged at a special city council meeting.
Sohail wishes to become a lawyer.
