Rangers’ custody: ABAD chairperson released
He was released under schedule four of the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance
KARACHI:
Babar Chughtai, a former chairperson of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (Abad) was released by the Rangers on Tuesday. Chughtai was arrested from his house on April 13 and was shifted to an undisclosed location after being accused of patronising criminals. He was produced before the anti-terrorism court, which gave his custody to the Rangers for 90 days. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement had condemned his arrest saying that Chughtai was arrested only because he gave funds to the party. He was released under schedule four of the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance but he cannot leave the city without informing the law enforcement agencies.
